Think of it: night out in the city, you meet someone, get their number and as you're texting them a GREEN BUBBLE comes up. GASP! Now it's an internal battle of whether you keep the conversation going. I know it sounds ridiculous but believe it or not nowadays you're classified as the color of your bubble. The stigma is that blue bubbles think they're betting than the green bubbles, but has anyone ever taken the time to get to know them? Green bubbles are people too you know and they have their reasons for having a green bubble phone so let's take a dive into their world and review the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 phone and keep our opinions to ourselves until the end.
10/10 Looks & A Nice Personality
I do have to admit, it is a good looking phone and it has some good features. Apparently it’s the biggest update Samsung has seen in years. It's unique, pocket size AND has hands-free camera angles. The best thing is that it flips. Nothing beats that feeling of hanging up on someone by closing your flip phone. It's very empowering.
It adds a little SPARKLE✨ when you're on the phone with someone. The Z Flip 5 has a larger external display than its predecessor. Users will be pleasantly surprised to know that it's offering a 3.4-inch Flex Window. The best part of this is that it allows for app and widget interactions without unfolding the phone. This has been a long time coming because this is something that users had been asking for, for quite some time. It features a gapless hinge design which basically means the top and the bottom parts of the inner display fold completely shut (yay sparkle✨). You know what this means? Because there's no gap in the center it means dust and debris are less likely to find it’s way on your phone. THAT'S RIGHT! No dust, just sparkle✨ This is great because it decreases the chances of it causing any physical damage to your phone. Another plus is that it's water resistant. Unfortunately, there isn't a battery improvement (boo). Jk! There is no battery improvement because it already has a pretty impressive battery life. It has fast wireless charging, wireless powershare, and it can charge up to 50% in 30 minutes when connected to a wired charger. Pretty nifty huh?
What matters is what's on the outside.
The FLEX window is a great feature. When you setup your preferred widgets, you're able to quickly access the information you need the most. It supports more than 13 widgets. You can add, delete and adjust the order of your favorite widgets depending on your preference. Some widgets include weather, recent calls, calendar. direct dial, alarm, timer, daily activities and direct dial. In order to access a widget, you will use the screen pinch gesture (pictured below) and this will enable the multi widget view. The widgets are arranged into a grid so you're able to see and access all your widgets at once.
We can't forget about selfie time though. It's truly remarkable the selfie power you have with the phone. The Flex cam makes it easy to take high definition selfies using the rear camera. Even while the phone is closed. All you have to do is open the camera app (while the phone is closed) and use the flex window and viola! Selfie time. Done taking selfies? Oh no problem cause now you can just browse through your aesthetic selfies using the Flex window. You are truly able to do it all in the Flex window. It even let’s you look at yourself when someone else is taking a picture of you. That's right, the Dual Preview displays on both the rear and front camera. Who are you going to blame for your bad pictures now?
Still not convinced someone with this phone is worth texting? Fine.
Don't take it from me, take it from Forbes who named the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 the
BEST FOLDABLE SAMSUNG PHONE.
Wow interesting article, bring plip phones back is a bold move. This seems like an amazing upgraded one. Seems like a great product that might get some buzz.
My jaw dropped when I first saw a commercial for this because it felt like I was teleported back in time to the first phones I had. It's so interesting to see how some styles are recycled but built upon. Thanks for sharing!
I honestly really miss the dramatic flair of the flip phone even though I never got to use it outside childhood. However, My brother has this phone, and my first worry was definitely the way the screen would gain possible damage over time. Even though Samsung does make very sturdy phones I am still waiting to see how his phone holds up.
Ok I'm not saying that I disagree because I have no experience with the phone. However, I will say that I think that it's a silly looking phone. I hope that one day they make a cuter one. I like that it's happening though. This is an interesting and weird piece of technology that I want to see evolve.
This is the next step of flipping phones and phone technology in general. Your post was well written and a good review standing from a user perspective. This makes a powerful way to sell a product, if Samsung sponsored you you did a good job then haha. Some of the features you pointed out and how this flip technology may work in day-to-day life prove useful. I genuinely would like to have a smaller phone in my pocket than the tablet I have right now.
